Frequently Asked Questions

About RobloxEra

What is RobloxEra?

RobloxEra is a community-driven archive of underrated and forgotten Roblox games. We curate, rank, and celebrate games that deserve far more attention than Roblox's own discovery algorithms give them — from beloved classics of the 2010s to brilliant modern indie titles with small but passionate audiences.

Is RobloxEra affiliated with Roblox?

No. RobloxEra is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation. Roblox® is a registered trademark of Roblox Corporation. We use Roblox's public API to pull game statistics (visit counts, like rates, thumbnails) but we have no official relationship with the company.

Is RobloxEra free to use?

Yes, completely free. You can browse the archive, read game pages, and explore every category without an account. Creating a free account unlocks extra features like liking games, writing reviews, and saving personal collections.

Games & Rankings

How does the Underrated Score work?

The Underrated Score rewards games with a high quality-to-popularity ratio. We look at a game's like rate (upvotes ÷ total votes on Roblox) and weight it against the game's total visit count. A game with 5,000 visits and a 98% like rate scores much higher than a game with 5 million visits and a 60% like rate. The goal is to surface games that players love more than the crowd has discovered. See our How We Rank page for the full breakdown.

How often are game statistics updated?

Game stats — visit counts, like rates, player counts, and favourites — are synced periodically from the Roblox API. The exact frequency depends on how active a game is, but most games are updated at least daily. Rankings can shift as new data arrives, so a game's position in the archive may change over time.

Can I sort games by different criteria?

Yes. Every game listing on RobloxEra supports multiple sort options: Most Underrated (our default), Newest Added, Highest Rated, Most Players, Most Visits, Most Liked, and Random. You can also filter by genre, category, tag, and theme to narrow results to exactly what you're after.

What does it mean if a game is "no longer playable"?

Some games in our archive have been shut down, removed by their developers, or made unavailable due to Roblox policy changes. We keep records of these games as part of our mission to preserve Roblox history. Their pages include any historical screenshots and community memories we've been able to gather.

Suggesting & Adding Games

How do I suggest a game for the archive?

Visit the Suggest a Game page and submit the Roblox game URL or universe ID. You don't need an account to submit, but registered members get notified about the status of their suggestions. Our admin team reviews every submission before it appears publicly.

How long does the review process take?

We aim to review submissions within a few days, though during busy periods it may take longer. We review each game manually to confirm it's genuinely playable, meets our quality bar, and fits the spirit of the archive. We don't accept games just because they were submitted — every entry must earn its place.

Why was my suggestion rejected?

A suggestion may be rejected if the game is already in the archive, if it doesn't meet our quality threshold, if it's a popular mainstream title that doesn't fit the "underrated or hidden gem" spirit of RobloxEra, or if we were unable to verify it's playable. We can't provide personalised feedback for every rejected submission, but you're welcome to try again with a different game.

Accounts & Community

Why should I create an account?

A free RobloxEra account lets you like games (which feeds into our community rankings), leave reviews and comments, save games to personal collections, and get notified about suggestion updates. Your engagement directly helps surface great games for other players.

Can I connect my Roblox account?

Yes. From your account settings you can link your Roblox profile. This lets us display your Roblox avatar on your RobloxEra profile and attribute your activity to your Roblox identity. Linking is optional and can be disconnected at any time.

What are Collections?

Collections are personal lists of games you curate yourself — like playlists for Roblox. You might create a "Best Horror Games" collection, a "Games to Play with Friends" list, or a "My Childhood Favourites" archive. Collections can be public or private. Logged-in users can access their collections from the navigation bar.

Technical & Contact

I found a bug or an error on a game page. How do I report it?

Please use our Contact page to report any bugs, incorrect information, or broken links. Include as much detail as you can — the URL of the affected page and a description of what you expected vs. what you saw — and we'll look into it promptly.

Can I use RobloxEra's data or API in my own project?

We don't currently offer a public API. If you'd like to collaborate or discuss data licensing, please reach out via the contact form and we'll be happy to discuss your project.
